Assigning an IP Address Within a LAG

Layer 3 static or dynamic LAG supports IP assignment. All the configurations have to be performed on the LAG virtual interface.

The IP address is always configured on the VE interface, not directly on the LAG.

The LAG must be added to the VLAN that the VE belongs to.

  1. Enter the global configuration mode.
    device# configure terminal
  2. Create a LAG.
device(config)# lag blue dynamic id 1
  3. 3. Add ports to the LAG.
    device(config-lag-blue)# ports ethernet 1/1/1 ethernet 1/1/3
    LAG blue deployed successfully!
    ICX7650-48P Router(config-lag-blue)#exit

  4. Create a VLAN and add the LAG to the VLAN.
    device(config)# vlan 200
    device(config-vlan-200)# tagged ethernet 1/1/2
    Added tagged port(s) ethe 1/1/2 to port-vlan 200
  5. Create a VE Interface and assign an IP address to the VE.
    device(config-vlan-200)# interface ve 200
    device(config-vif-200))# ip address 25.0.0.2/24
