Configuring and Scheduling RUCKUS Network Director Configuration Backup

Backup of the RUCKUS Network Director configuration file can be scheduled at a specified frequency. In addition to that, the backup setting also allows you to specify the SFTP server location details where you want to store the backup files.

Complete the following steps to configure and schedule RUCKUS Network Director config backup settings. .

  1. On the menu, go to Admin > Backup & Restore.
    The Backup & Restore window is displayed.
  2. In the Config Backup SFTP Settings panel, complete the following SFTP server setting fields and schedule the backup frequency.
    • Host: Enter the IP address or host name of the server.
    • Port: Enter the port number to be used to connect to the SFTP server.
    • Remote Dir: Enter the path to the directory on the SFTP server where configuration backup files are stored.
    • Username: Enter the user name for connections to the server.
    • Password: Enter the password for connections to the server.
    • Backup Recurrence : Schedule the frequency at which RUCKUS Network Director config backup must take place. The backup scheduling can be defined at the following frequency:
      • None - By default, backup scheduling frequency is not configured.
      • 6 hours
      • 12 hours
      • 24 hours

      The RUCKUS Network Director automatically performs the backup at the following intervals:

      • For 6 hours frequency, backup occur at 0am, 6am, 12pm, 18pm, and 0am.
      • For 12 hours frequency, backup occur at 0am, 12pm, and 0am.
      • For 24 hours frequency, backup occur at 0am.

  3. Click Apply to save the RUCKUS Network Director config backup settings.
