Changing the RUCKUS IoT Controller Password

A single administrator is responsible for creating and managing the RUCKUS IoT Controller account. This administrator oversees all system operations.

The administrator must perform the following steps to change the password:

  1. On the global header in the RUCKUS IoT Controller, click the user icon and then select Account.

  2. In the Change Password section, follow these steps to change the password.
    1. In the Current Password field, enter the existing password.
    2. In the New Password field, enter the new password.
    3. In the Confirm New Password field, re-enter the new password.
    Note: If you enable High Availability (HA) on the RUCKUS IoT Controller, ensure that the admin password is the same on both the primary and secondary nodes.
  3. Click Update Password to save the new password.
  4. In the Security questions section, enable the toggle switch to answer the security questions.
    Attention: RUCKUS recommends enabling security questions and providing appropriate answers to the selected questions. This helps you recover your password if you forget it when logging in to the RUCKUS IoT Controller.
    1. Select five security questions from the available list. Enter an answer for each question.
      Note: Each answer must be unique and must contain 3 to 64 characters.
  5. Click Save security questions allows you to save the selected questions and their answers.

    Note: You can update the answers for the existing security questions, or you can select different questions and provide new answers. You can perform these updates periodically to help protect them from password‑cracking attempts.
