Configuring Stacking Ports or Trunks in a Live System
If you use the multi-stack-port or
multi-stack-trunk command in a live system to convert live stacking ports
to data ports, the resulting data ports may cause Layer 2 loops when STP is not
configured. To prevent this possibility, the system disables the resulting data ports.
Before the disabled data ports can again
be configured as stacking ports or trunks using the stack-port or stack-trunk commands, you
must enable them. The system displays an error message if you attempt to convert the
disabled data ports.
The following example converts a live stacking link to a data link and then recreates a stacking link with the same ports after enabling them.
