Changing the Maximum Number of Static ARP Table Entries

Static ARP table entries can be increased on a RUCKUS Layer 3 switch.

Note: The basic procedure for changing the static ARP table size is the same as the procedure for changing other configurable cache or table sizes.
Note: When increasing static ARP table size, you must ensure that the ARP table size is also increased. For example, if you follow the task below to configure the maximum number of static ARP table entries to 1000, you must configure the maximum number of ARP entries to be greater than 1000 entries. Refer to the system-max ip-arp command in the RUCKUS FastIron Command Reference for more information.
Note: When the maximum number of ARP table entries is changed, the maximum number of IP cache entries is set to the same value.
  1. Enter global configuration mode.
    device# configure terminal
  2. Enter the following command and specify the maximum number of static ARP table entries.
    device(config)# system-max ip-static-arp 1000
  3. Save the running configuration to the startup configuration file.
    device(config)# write memory
  4. Exit from global configuration mode.
    device(config)# end
  5. Reload the software after changing the static ARP table size to place the change into effect.
    device# reload

The following example configures the system max for static ARP table entries.

device# configure terminal
device(config)# system-max ip-static-arp 1000
device(config)# write memory
device(config)# end
device# reload
