Advertising the default BGP4+ route to a specific neighbor
A BGP device can be configured to advertise the default IPv6 route to a specific neighbor.
- Enter the
configure terminalcommand to access global configuration mode. - Enter the
router bgpcommand to enable BGP routing. - Enter the
local-ascommand to configure the autonomous system number (ASN) in which your device resides. - Enter the
address-family ipv6 unicastcommand to enter IPv6 address family configuration mode. - Enter the
neighbor default-originatecommand and specify an IPv6 address to enable the BGP4+ device to advertise the default IPv6 route to a specific neighbor.
The following example enables a BGP4+ device to advertise the default IPv6 route to a specific neighbor.
device# configure terminal device(config)# router bgp device(config-bgp-router)# local-as 1000 device(config-bgp-router)# address-family ipv6 unicast device(config-bgp-ipv6u)# neighbor 2001:db8:93e8:cc00::1 default-originate
