OSPFv3 Authentication Trailer Configuration
Authentication must be configured on
each interface, virtual link, or area as required. The same authentication method
must be
enabled on peer and neighbor routers to ensure a connection is established and the
packets are
transmitted successfully.
OSPFv3 authentication trailer is defined in RFC
7166 and RFC 6506. RFC 7166 supersedes RFC 6506 and by default FastIron implements authentication
trailer in accordance with RFC 7166. However, some vendor equipment still supports
RFC 6506.
If your deployment includes vendor equipment that supports RFC 6506, you can configure
authentication for the required interfaces or virtual links, as required, using the
ospf authentication rfc6506
command.
