accept-register

Configures the register message filter rule for Protocol Independent Multicast (PIM) and IPv6 Protocol Independent Multicast (PIMv6).
Syntax
accept-register string
no accept-register string

The register message filter rule for PIM and PIMv6 is not configured.

Parameters
string
Specifies an extended access control list (ACL) name or number that defines the (S, G) traffic in PIM register messages to be permitted or denied.
Modes

PIM router configuration mode

IPv6 PIM router configuration mode

Usage Guidelines

This command can be used on rendezvous point (RP) switches. When a configured access control list (ACL) is unavailable, the deny rule for any (S, G) pair is applied.

The no form of the command removes the register message filter rule for PIM and PIMv6.

Examples

The following example configures the register message filter rule for PIM with a specified ACL. 

device# configure terminal
device(config)# router pim
device(config-pim-router)# accept-register pim_reg_filter

The following example removes the register message filter rule for PIM with a specific configured ACL. 

device# configure terminal
device(config)# router pim
device(config-pim-router)# no accept-register pim_reg_filter

The following example configures the register message filter rule for PIMv6 with a specified ACL.

device# configure terminal
device(config)# ipv6 router pim
device(config-ipv6-pim-router)# accept-register pim_reg_acl
