Defining an LLDP-MED network policy

An LLDP-MED network policy defines an Endpoint VLAN configuration (VLAN type and VLAN ID) and associated Layer 2 and Layer 3 priorities that apply to a specific set of applications on a port.
Note: This feature applies to applications that have specific real-time network policy requirements, such as interactive voice or video services. It is not intended to run on links other than between Network Connectivity devices and Endpoints, and therefore does not advertise the multitude of network policies that frequently run on an aggregated link.

To define an LLDP-MED network policy for an Endpoint, enter a command such as the following.

device(config)#lldp med network-policy application voice tagged vlan 99 priority 3 dscp 22 port e 1/2/6

The network policy advertisement will appear similar to the following on the remote device, and in the CLI display output on the RUCKUS device (show lldp local-info ).

+ MED Network Policy
    Application Type : Voice
Policy Flags : Known Policy, Tagged
    VLAN ID : 99
    L2 Priority : 3
    DSCP Value : 22
Note: Endpoints will advertise a policy as "unknown" in the show lldp neighbor detail command output, if it is a policy that is required by the Endpoint and the Endpoint has not yet received it.
Note: In any LLDP-MED configuration with a priority of zero, tagged VLANs cannot be configured. In this scenario, by design, the configuration defaults to an untagged state, and the VLAN associated with the ports is used.
