ICX 8200 Stacking Topologies

The following figure shows the location of available stacking ports on an ICX 8200-48 device. The valid-stack ports are x/2/1 and x/2/3, shown in red in the figure. All 24-port and 48-port ICX 8200 devices have the same physical port configuration for stacking on front panel Module 2.

ICX 8200-48 Stacking Ports

The following figure shows available stacking ports for an ICX 8200-24FX device. The valid-stack-ports are x/2/1, x/2/3, x/2/5, and x/2/7, shown in red in the figure.

ICX8200-24FX Stacking Ports

Note: As shown, ICX 8200-24FX devices have two valid-stack-port sets. The user has the option to change to the set (1/2/5, 1/2/7). The “default” stack-port of a brand new ICX 8200-24FX unit (or any ICX 8200-24FX unit after you enter erase startup and reload) are “stack-port ethernet 1/2/1” and “stack-port ethernet 1/2/3.”
Note: The two four-port stacking banks on an ICX 8200-24FX device are separate. No stacking trunk can be formed between the ports in the first bank (ports x/2/1 through x/2/4) and the second bank (ports x/2/5 through x/2/8).

The following figure shows available stacking ports for an ICX8200-48NP2 device. All 8 ports (1/2/1 to 1/2/8) can be stack ports.

ICX8200-48NP2 Stacking Ports

Note: The ICX 8200-48NP2 has eight uplink ports (1/2/1 through 1/2/8), all of which can be configured as stack ports. The valid stack-port sets are (x/2/1 through x/2/4) and (x/2/5 through x/2/8). Each set supports a maximum two-port stacking trunk (for example, x/2/1 to x/2/2 or x/2/3 to x/2/4).
Note: You must use ports from only one valid stack-port set at a time. For example, stack ports configured from the (x/2/1 through x/2/4) set cannot be mixed with stack ports from the (x/2/5 through x/2/8) set. The ICX 8200-48NP2 also supports linear-topology stack trunks using x/2/1 through x/2/4 or x/2/5 through x/2/8 to increase stacking bandwidth. Linear-topology stack trunks are supported only in a two-unit stack.

The following figure shows available stacking ports for an ICX8200-24XP2 device. Only ports 1/2/1 to 1/2/4 can be stack ports; ports 1/2/5 and 1/2/6 are always data ports.

ICX8200-24XP2 Stacking Ports

Note: The ICX 8200-24XP2 has six uplink ports (1/2/1 through 1/2/6). Only ports 1/2/1 through 1/2/4 can be configured as stack ports. Ports 1/2/5 and 1/2/6 are reserved as data ports and do not support stacking. The valid stack-port sets are (x/2/1 through x/2/2) and (x/2/3 through x/2/4). Each set supports a maximum two-port stacking trunk.

The following figure shows available stacking ports for an ICX 8200-C08PF device. Both ports 1/2/1 and 1/2/2 are valid-stack-ports and are shown in red in the figure.
