Creating ICX 7150 Stacking Trunks While the Link Is Down
- Enter global configuration mode.
- (Optional) Use the
show stackcommand to check the stack topology and status.ICX7150-24 Router(config)# show stack T=36m46.7: alone: standalone, D: dynamic cfg, S: static ID Type Role Mac Address Pri State Comment 1 S ICX7150-24 active 00e0.5200.0100 128 local Ready 2 S ICX7150-48P standby 748e.f882.e418 0 remote Ready standby active +---+ +---+ 3/3| 2 |3/1==3/1| 1 |3/3 +---+ +---+ Will assign standby in 56 sec due to all ready Standby u2 - protocols ready, can failover Current stack management MAC is 00e0.5200.0100The example shows a two-unit stack with both units in the Ready state. The units are connected by a trunk through stack ports 1/3/1 and 2/3/1. - Enter stack unit configuration mode on the active controller.
- Enter the
stack-trunkcommand followed by the range of ports to include in the trunk. The example creates a two-port stacking trunk containing ports 1/3/3 and 1/3/4. - Create a stacking trunk for the same number of ports at the other end of the planned
connection if the trunk has not been created.
The example creates a stacking trunk from ports 2/3/3 and 2/3/4.
- (Optional) Enter the
show running-configcommand to check the configuration.ICX7150-24 Router(config-unit-1)# show running-config Current configuration: ! ver 09.0.00 ! stack unit 1 module 1 icx7150-24-port-management-module module 2 icx7150-2-copper-port-2g-module module 3 icx7150-4-sfp-plus-port-40g-module priority 128 stack-trunk ethernet 1/3/1 to 1/3/2 stack-trunk ethernet 1/3/3 to 1/3/4 stack unit 2 module 1 icx7150-48p-poe-port-management-module module 2 icx7150-2-copper-port-2g-module module 3 icx7150-4-sfp-plus-port-40g-module stack-trunk ethernet 2/3/1 to 2/3/2 stack-trunk ethernet 2/3/3 to 2/3/4 stack enable stack mac 00e0.5200.0100 ! ! end
The example shows the stack with the existing trunk (1/3/1 to 1/3/2 connected to 2/3/1 to 2/3/2) and the trunk added on stack unit 1 and stack unit 2. To create a ring topology, the new trunk on the two stack units could be connected physically.
The following example creates a trunk on stack unit 1 while the link is down.
