Applying QoS Mapping to Wireless Traffic

This is the process of prioritizing different types of network traffic to ensure optimal performance

When an AP receives a downlink packet, it checks the existing DSCP marking, which is a Layer 3 QoS value. The AP then maps this DSCP value to a corresponding User Priority (UP) value based on the configured mappings. This process ensures that the packet is transmitted with the appropriate priority level, optimizing network performance, and ensuring that critical traffic receives the necessary resources.

To configure this feature, you select the UP from the table (0-7) and configure the DSCP (0-63) range that will be mapped to this UP. Exceptions can also be added to preserve and honor the original DSCP and UP tagging by the AP. This allows for flexible and precise traffic management based on the specific needs of the network.

Configure the QoS Map Set in the WLAN advanced settings. For more instructions about configuring this feature, refer to Creating a WLAN Configuration topic.
