ICX 7550 stacking enhancement ICX 7550 100-Gbps stacking is added in this release. FastIron Stacking Ports and Bandwidth and ICX 7550 Stack Configuration Overview
ICX 7850-48C The ICX 7850-48C is introduced. ICX 7850 Stacking Topologies
ICX 7150 and ICX 7250 maximum stack size Due to memory-intensive management plane enhancements in the release, the maximum ICX 7150 and ICX 7250 stack size is reduced from 12 to 8 units.

CLI changes All stack-port, stack-trunk, multi-stack-port, and multi-stack-trunk commands and related output now include the keyword ethernet before port numbers; for example, the stack-port 1/2/1 command becomes stack-port ethernet 1/2/1, and the multi-stack-trunk 1/2/1 to 1/2/2 and 2/2/1 to 2/2/2 command becomes multi-stack-trunk ethernet 1/2/1 to 1/2/2 and ethernet 2/2/1 to 2/2/2.

Zero 'stack-port' or 'stack-trunk' configuration allowed There is no longer a requirement for designated stack-ports or stack-trunks to be present when stacking is not enabled. Changes to Stacking in FastIron Releases 08.0.95c and 09.0.00
Stack construction performance improvement due to stacking port changes. Previously, when users configured stacking ports, for both sides to negotiate and move to HiGig mode to form a stack required up to 40 seconds. The time required has improved to approximately 10 seconds.
Disabled ports when converted from stacking to data Stacking ports converted to data ports by the multi-stack-trunk or multi-stack-port command are disabled to prevent loops. These ports must be re-enabled to be used again as data or stacking ports.

This feature does not apply to ICX 7650 devices because the stacking ports cannot be used as data ports even when the unit has no stack-port/trunk configuration.

The configuration "[no] stack-port/trunk" does not disable a port when it becomes a data port. The reason is that these commands apply to non-live ports that do not cause loops.

Failover enhancement The traffic interruption time is improved to sub-second if the active controller fails and the traffic must be rerouted. The traffic that does not pass through the failed active controller is hitless. When a stacking ring transitions to a linear stack, however, the traffic interruption remains in the 1-3 second range for traffic that needs to be rerouted. Hitless Stacking
Stack interactive-setup changes Option 3 of the stack interactive-setup utility no longer verifies the super-user password for a stack candidate that is password protected. Additional identifying information is added to discovered units. In Option 2, the unit serial number is added alongside the MAC address for discovered units. In Option 3, fields are added for serial number, hostname, management IP address (for a router) or assigned IP address (for a switch), and system up time. The identifying information in Option 3 assists the user in verifying that the correct units are confirmed for addition to the stack. The Stack Interactive-setup Utility
STP enabled STP is enabled by default in switch images. From FastIron release 09.0.00, STP is also enabled by default in router images.
rconsole change The rconsole command was modified to require authentication when issued from a stack member other than the active controller. The new cli timeout command controls remote console session timeouts.

Logging in through the Console Port

The RUCKUS FastIron Command Reference

All console output from background jobs is redirected to the internal log. Only the output for user commands is printed to the user session. All background job output previously displayed on the console is redirected to log manager. For example, stacking election and standby assignment results are no longer displayed on the console. Use the show log debug infra stack all command to see the stacking logs. Displaying Stacking Process Information Stored in Log Manager
