Configuring an ICX 7650 Trunk Manually on a Non-production System
Stacking trunks can be configured on ICX 7650 devices operating in 40-Gbps stacking
mode.
The stack interactive-setup process includes the option to form trunks when multiple links are possible. You may also opt to configure a trunk manually.
Follow these steps to create a trunk manually on an ICX 7650 stack that is not live.
Note: Stacking trunks can be configured only when the rear module is operating in 40-Gbps
stacking mode. Refer to
ICX 7650 rear-module options for more information.
Note: Trunk configuration may be removed when you change stacking speeds.
- (Optional) Verify that stacking is enabled and that the rear module is configured
in 40-Gbps stacking mode.

No stacking links are configured to other units. - Enter stack unit configuration mode to configure trunks.

The example configures two stacking trunks on stack unit 1. - If necessary, enable stacking on the device.
- Enter the
write memorycommand to save the trunk configuration. - Repeat the previous steps to enable stacking and configure trunks as needed on all
units in the stack.
Note: This step is configured on each separate unit. As shown in the example, each standalone unit identifies itself as "stack unit 1" until it joins a stack.

The example shows a standalone unit being enabled for stacking and configured with a single stacking trunk. - Wait for the election to take place.
The second unit is reloaded as a stack member.
- (Optional) Confirm that the stack has formed based on the stacking links configured.
