Changing the Cable Signal Error Scanning Interval

Proactive Monitoring of Cable Signal Errors and Logging is enabled by default, so that every five seconds the cables connected to the 2.5G ports are monitored for cable signal errors. The default interval of five seconds can be altered. The following task changes the cable signal error scanning interval from 5 seconds to 15 seconds.
Note: Proactive Monitoring of Cable Signal Errors and Logging is supported for 2.5G ports only.
  1. Enter Global Configuration mode.
    device# configure terminal
  2. Change the cable signal error scanning interval from the default of 5 seconds to 15 seconds.
    device(config)# cable-signal-error-scan interval 15
The cable signal error scanning interval is set to 15 seconds. This value applies even after a reload.

The following example changes the cable signal error scanning interval to 15 seconds.

device# configure terminal
device(config)# cable-signal-error-scan interval 15

The following example disables cable signal error scanning.

device# configure terminal
device(config)# no cable-signal-error-scan

The following example re-enables cable signal error scanning, if it has been disabled, and restores the default of five seconds.

device# configure terminal
device(config)# cable-signal-error-scan interval 5
