Adding an Identity

You can create and configure an identity in the RUCKUS One web interface and assign a VLAN and an identity group to the client.
It is recommended that you create an Identity Group before you create an identity.
Complete the following steps to add an identity.
  1. On the navigation bar, select Clients > Identities List.
    The Identity Management page is displayed.
  2. Click Add Identity.
    The Create Identity page is displayed.

  3. Enter an Identity Name.
  4. (Optional) Enter a Display Name.
  5. (Optional) Enter a valid Email address.
  6. (Optional) Enter a valid Phone number.
  7. (Optional) Enter a Description.
  8. Select an Identity Group from the Identity Group drop-down list.
    To add an Identity Group, refer to Adding an Identity Group.
  9. Click the Assign DPSK passphrase to this identity checkbox to assign a DPSK passphrase to this identity.

    The passphrase is assigned from the DPSK service associated with the selected Identity Group.

    Note: DPSK passphrases are not created automatically when you create an identity. Select the Assign DPSK passphrase to this identity checkbox only if a passphrase is required.

  10. (Optional) Select a VLAN ID ranging from 1 through 4094.
  11. Click Apply to create an identity.
The newly created identity appears in the Identities tab on the Identity Management page.
