show monitor capture

Displays packet capture details.
Syntax
show monitor capture [capture-name] buffer [brief ] [detailed ] [dump]
Parameters
capture-name
Displays all parameters for the specified capture name.
buffer
When entered with one of the following parameters, displays details of the packets (such as buffer usage, packet count, packets dropped, and packet traffic rate).
brief
Provides a brief output of the captured packet information in the buffer. The output displays the packet size, source address, destination address, and IP protocol.
detailed
Provides a detailed output of the captured packet information in the buffer. The output displays, for each captured packet, the packet size, source address, destination address, IP protocol, and a hex dump of the packet data.
dump
Provides only the hexadecimal dump of the contents of each of the captured packets in the buffer.

Note: Entering the show monitor capture with no parameters displays a list of all packet captures that you have.

The following example displays the name of the packet capture that you have configured.

device# show monitor capture

The following example displays all the details of a capture buffer.
