pppoe intermediate-agent

Configures the Point-to-Point Protocol over Ethernet Intermediate Agent (PPPoE IA) on the interface.
Syntax
pppoe intermediate-agent {circuit-idcircuit-id|remote-idremote-id}

pppoe intermediate-agent vendor-tag strip
no pppoe intermediate-agent {circuit-idcircuit-id|remote-idremote-id}

Command Default

The Protocol over Ethernet Intermediate Agent (PPPoE IA) is not enabled on the interface.

Parameters
circuit-id circuit-id
Specifies the circuit ID to be added as part of the vendor tag. This s a case-sensitive string up to 63 characters.
remote-id remote-id
Specifies the remote ID to be added as part as part of the vendor tag. This s a case-sensitive string up to 63 characters.
trust
Specifies the port as trusted.
vendor-tag strip
Strips the vendor tag in the PPPoE Active Discovery (PAD) message packets from the server.

Usage Guidelines

This command is supported for ICX 8200 devices only.

When the PPPoE IA is enabled and configured on an interface, the agent intercepts each PAD message coming from a PPPoE client and a PPPoE server, checking for a vendor-specific tag. Depending on the policy configured for vendor-specific tag processing, the vendor-specific tag may be stripped, kept, or replaced, and the packet forward or dropped.

The no form of the command disables the feature.

Examples

The following example enables and configures the PPPoE Interface Agent on the specified PPPoE client interface, then confirms the configuration using the show running-config command.
