Disabling or Re-Enabling DHCP Option 37 (DHCP-Relay Information) Processing on an Interface

By default, when DHCP option 37 is enabled on a VLAN, DHCP packets received on all member ports of the VLAN are subject to DHCP option 37 processing. You can disable or re-enable this processing on one or more member ports of the VLAN.

The dhcp6-relay information enable command is supported only on ICX 8200 devices.

  1. To disable DHCP option 37, enter global configuration mode by using the configure terminal command.
    device# configure terminal
  2. Enter interface configuration mode.
    device(config)# interface ethernet 1/1/4
  3. Disable DHCP option 37 on the specified interface.
    device(config-if-e1000-1/1/4)# no dhcp6-relay information enable
  4. Remove remote-id configuration at the port level.
    device(config-if-e1000-1/1/4)# no dhcp6 snooping relay information remote-id test_remote
  5. Re-enable DHCP option 37 on the specified interface.
    device(config-if-e1000-1/1/4)# dhcp6-relay information enable
  6. Add remote-id configration at the port level.
    device(config-if-e1000-1/1/4)# dhcp6 snooping relay information remote-id test_remote

The following example disables DHCP option 37 on the specified interface.

device# configure terminal
device(config)# interface ethernet 1/1/4
device(config-if-e1000-1/1/4)# no dhcp6-relay information enable
device(config-if-e1000-1/1/4)# no dhcp6 snooping relay information remote-id test_remote

The following example re-enables DHCP option 37 on the specified interface.

device# configure terminal
device(config)# interface ethernet 1/1/4
device(config-if-e1000-1/1/4)# dhcp6-relay information enable
device(config-if-e1000-1/1/4)# dhcp6 snooping relay information remote-id test_remote
