Disabling Multicast Hardware Entry Optimization

You can disable Layer 2 and Layer 3 multicast hardware entry optimization for IPv4 and IPv6 multicast flows. The following commands need to be run only on the active unit.
  1. Enter the configure terminal command to access global configuration mode.
    device# configure terminal
  2. Enter the no ip multicast-routing optimization command followed by the oif-list and all keywords to disable Layer 3 IPMC sharing for IPv4 multicast flows. To disable Layer 3 IPMC sharing for IPv6 multicast flows, enter the no ipv6 multicast-routing optimization command followed by the oif-list and all keywords.
    device(config)# no ip multicast-routing optimization oif-list all
    device(config)# no ipv6 multicast-routing optimization oif-list all
    device(config)# write memory
    device(config)# exit
    device# reload
  3. Enter the no ip multicast optimization command followed by the oif-list and all keywords to disable Layer 2 IPMC sharing for IPv4 multicast flows. To disable Layer 2 IPMC sharing for IPv6 multicast flows, enter the no ipv6 multicast optimization command followed by the oif-list and all keywords.
device(config)# no ip multicast optimization oif-list all
    device(config)# no ipv6 multicast optimization oif-list all
    device(config)# write memory
    device(config)# exit
    device# reload
Note: Entry optimization is enabled by default on RUCKUS ICX 7150, ICX 7250, ICX 7450,
