Configuring RADIUS (Overview)

Complete the following steps to configure a RUCKUS device for RADIUS.

  1. Configure RUCKUS vendor-specific attributes on the RADIUS server. Refer to Configuring Company-Specific Attributes on the RADIUS Server.
  2. Identify the RADIUS server to the RUCKUS device. Refer to Identifying the RADIUS Server to the RUCKUS Device.
  3. (Optional) Specify different servers for individual AAA functions. Refer to Specifying Different Servers for Individual AAA Functions.
  4. (Optional) Configure the RADIUS server as a "port only" server. Refer to Mapping RADIUS Servers to Ports.
  5. (Optional) Bind the RADIUS servers to ports on the RUCKUS device. Refer to Mapping RADIUS Servers to Ports.
  6. (Optional) Adjust RADIUS parameters. Refer to Setting RADIUS Parameters.
  7. (Optional) Set up dead server detection. Refer to Configuring Detection of Dead RADIUS Servers.
  8. Configure authentication-method lists. Refer to Configuring Authentication-method Lists for RADIUS.
  9. (Optional) Configure RADIUS authorization. Refer to RADIUS Authorization.
  10. (Optional) Configure RADIUS accounting. Refer to RADIUS Accounting.
  11. (Optional) Configure the status-server on/off. Refer to Configuring the status-server on/off.
