Connecting to an OpenFlow Controller

To connect to an OpenFlow Controller in active mode, enter the openflow controller command.

device(config)# openflow controller ip-address 10.2.3.4

The IP address in the command is the IP address of the OpenFlow Controller, and SSL encryption is used by default. Also, the OpenFlow connection uses TCP port 6633.

To connect to an OpenFlow Controller in passive mode, enter the openflow controller passive command.

device(config)# openflow controller passive no-ssl

Optionally, you can specify the TCP port to be used for the connection. By default, the device accepts the connection from a controller with any IP address. However, you can provide an IP address to limit which controller can connect to the device.

Use the no openflow controller passive command to remove a passive connection. Passive mode connections are intended for testing environments and not recommended for production environments.
