Creating an AV Profile on an ICX Switch

You can use an AV profile created in the RUCKUS Unleashed web interface to enable the ICX AV switch to effectively handle audio‑visual traffic by prioritizing latency‑sensitive traffic, enabling time synchronization, and optimizing multicast delivery.
  • If a RUCKUS Unleashed AP is directly connected to an ICX switch port and the ICX credentials have not been changed, the Unleashed network automatically manages the ICX switch.
  • If the credentials have changed, click Manage ICX and enter the username and password.
  • If a RUCKUS Unleashed AP is not connected, add the ICX switch manually by entering the IP address, admin username, and password.
  • Ensure that the required AV profile template is available before creating an AV profile.
Complete the following steps to create an AV profile on an ICX switch:
  1. In the navigation bar, select Wired > Switch List.
    The Switches page is displayed.
  2. Select an ICX switch that supports AV profiles and click the AV Profiles tab.
  3. Click Add.
The Add AV Profiles sidebar is displayed.

  4. Select the ports to which you want to bind the AV profile.
Each port can be associated with only one AV profile.
  5. Enter the AV profile name.
  6. Select the AV Profile Template from the drop-down list. The options include the predefined templates: AES67 Audio-Video, Dante Audio-Video, NDI5-Video, Q_SYS-Video, Video, Voice, Data, and Custom.
Alternatively, create a custom template to define QoS, PTP, and multicast behavior for specific AV deployment requirements (you may create up to eight custom templates).
    1. Click the icon to create a new AV profile template.
Note: A maximum of eight AV profiles per ICX switch is supported.
The Add Profile Template sidebar is displayed. Complete the following to add a new AV profile template:
      • Name: Enter a template name.
      • Description: Enter a description.
      • PTPv2: Select PTPv2 to enable Precision Time Protocol for AV device synchronization.
      • Click Add next to Quality Of Service.

The Add Quality Of Service sidebar is displayed. Complete the following to configure QoS rules:

        • Select QoS Type (DSCP), Value, and Queue (0 through 6).
        • Click Add.

        • (Optional) Select the checkbox alongside the Order column, and then click Edit, Clone, or Delete in the Quality of Service table.

    2. Click Save.
    3. (Optional) Click the icon to modify the profile template. You can modify the template name and description, enable or disable PTPv2, and add Quality of Service (QoS) configurations.

  7. Select a Color for the AV profile.
  8. Enter the Untagged VLAN.

Ports bound to the AV profile are untagged for this VLAN, while unbound ports remain tagged.

  9. Enable IGMP and complete the following steps:
    1. Select Querier Version (V2 or V3).
    2. Enable Querier Election and enter the Querier IP Address.
Note: IGMP and Querier Version settings are pre-configured for the built-in templates. You can configure these settings only in custom templates. For the Data AV profile template, IGMP is disabled.
  10. Enable Fast Leave to allow immediate removal of multicast group membership.
  11. Enable DHCP Relay and configure the following fields:
    • Enter the VLAN IP address.
    • Enter the Netmask value.
    • Enter the DHCP server IP address.
  12. Click Add.
