AV Profile Overview

AV profiles are configurations associated with switch ports and AV traffic on ICX switches. You can view and manage AV profiles configured on ICX switches, including profile details, associated templates, and port-level assignments.

The AV Profiles interface provides two sub-tabs: AV profiles and AV Profile Template (Shared).

AV Profiles

The AV profiles sub-tab includes:

  • A port diagram that displays the physical layout of the switch, including modules and port numbering. Ports associated with an AV profile are indicated using color.
  • A table that displays information about configured AV profiles.

The following columns are displayed:

Name Displays the name of the AV profile.
Profile Template Displays the name of the AV profile template.
Color Displays the color of the AV profile shown in the port diagram in the AV Profiles tab.
Untagged VLAN Displays the access VLAN associated with the ICX switch.
IGMP Displays the Internet Group Management Protocol (IGMP) settings (Enabled or Disabled).
Querier Version Displays the version of IGMP (V2 or V3).
Querier Election Displays whether Querier Election is enabled and the corresponding Querier IP address.
Note: IGMP and Querier Version settings are pre-configured for the built-in templates. You can configure these settings only for custom templates. For the Data AV profile template, the IGMP setting is disabled.
Querier IP Address Displays the configured Querier IP address.
Fast Leave Displays whether Fast Leave is enabled. This field is displayed as disabled when Querier Election is enabled.
DHCP Relay Displays whether Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) Relay is enabled.
VLAN IP Displays the IP address of the VLAN.
Netmask Displays the DHCP subnet mask value.
DHCP Server IP Displays the IP address of the DHCP server to which the relay agent forwards DHCP requests from clients on its network.

You can use the Search option to display only the table entries matching the specified Profile Name, Profile Template, Untagged VLAN, IGMP, Querier Version, Querier Election, Querier IP Address, Fast Leave, DHCP Relay, VLAN IP, Netmask, or DHCP Server IP address; enter a minimum of two characters. Click Clear Filters to remove the applied filters.

You can customize which fields appear in the AV Profiles table by clicking the icon and selecting or deselecting the desired column names. Optionally, you can click Reset to default to restore the default subset of columns. You can sort the list by clicking the associated column header.

The AV Profile Template (Shared) tab displays the list of available AV profile templates. The following columns are displayed:

Name Displays the name of the AV profile template. The following are the built-in AV templates:
  • AES67 Audio-Video: Use this template to connect the ICX switch to the AES67 audio devices and their controller. AES67 is a standard that transmits high-quality audio over IP networks.
  • Dante Audio-Video: Use this template to connect the ICX switch to the Dante audio devices and their controller. Dante is a technology that transmits video and multiple channels of audio over Ethernet cables.
  • NDI5-Video: Use this template to connect the ICX switch to the video systems. Network Device Interface (NDI5) is a standard that allows video systems to communicate with one another over IP.
  • Q_SYS-Video: Use this template to connect the ICX switch to the IP audio Q-SYS devices and their controller. Q_SYS is a cloud platform that integrates audio, video, and control processing in one system.
  • Video: Use this template to connect the ICX switch to the IP video devices and their controller.
  • Voice: Use this template to connect the ICX switch to VoIP phones or high-definition voice streaming applications.
  • Data: Use this template to connect the ICX switch to other network devices as well as computers.
  • Custom: Use this template to build your custom AV profile template.
Description Displays the description of the AV profile template.
PTPv2 Displays the Precision Time Protocol (PTP) v2 setting (Enabled or Disabled).

You can use the Search option to display only the table entries matching the specified Name and Description; enter a minimum of two characters. Click Clear Filters to remove the applied filters.

You can customize which fields appear in the AV Profile Template (Shared) table by clicking the icon and selecting or deselecting the desired column names. Optionally, you can click Reset to default to restore the default subset of columns. You can sort the list by clicking the associated column header.

You can edit, clone, or delete the custom AV profile templates using the Edit, Clone, or Delete options. Only the clone operation is allowed for the system-defined AV profile templates.
