Tag Profile Configuration Rules
- When you set the tag-profile in the
global configuration mode, you need to enable tag-profile on a per port basis
using
the
tag-profile enablecommand. Only the tag-profile enabled ports use the user-configured tag-profile. The remaining ports continue using the system default tag-profile. Using this method, Q-in-Q can be achieved even if ingress and egress ports are in a single device. For more information, refer to Enabling IEEE 802.1ad tagging.
- One global tag profile can be configured on a stackable device between 0 and 0xffff.
- On individual ports, if tag-profile is enabled, it points to the global tag profile.
- Tag-profile can also be enabled for provisional ports.
