Entering the AP CLI

The AP command line interface (CLI) is the primary access interface for individual APs. It can be used for debugging AP issues, gathering data, configuration, and troubleshooting tasks.
Make sure the following prerequisites are met:
  • You have a terminal application like PuTTY installed in your computer.
  • The AP is powered on, operational, and has a valid IP address; when all of these conditions are met, the PWR LED is steady green.
  • The AP IP address is reachable from your computer.
The CLI of an AP is only accessible through SSH. Complete the following steps to access the CLI of an AP:
  1. Open the terminal application of your preference
  2. Specify the IP address of the AP and enter the TCP/IP port as 22.
  3. Ensure the selected connection type is SSH and then start the SSH session
  4. Once the CLI interface opens, enter the AP username and password.
    Note: If you cannot remember the AP password, refer to Changing the AP Password.

A successful login results in the AP model and serial number being displayed, followed by the CLI prompt, as shown in the following example:

get channel wifi0 To learn the broadcasting channel of the 2.4 GHz band.
get countrycode To learn the currently configured country code.
get power-mode To learn the currently configured power mode.
get scg To learn the connection status to the SmartZone controller.
get version To learn the firmware version of the AP.
get wlanlist To learn the configured WLANs in the AP.
