API Token

The API Token is a secure, system-generated identifier used for authenticating the RUCKUS IoT Controller. You need to generate or regenerate API tokens for the RUCKUS IoT Controller during initial integration with external applications, when an existing token has expired, or when there are security concerns.

To generate an API token, the administrator must perform the following steps:

  1. On the global header in the RUCKUS IoT Controller, click the user icon and then select Account.
  2. In the Tokens section, click Generate Token.
    The RUCKUS IoT Controller will generate a unique API Token. This token serves as a unique identifier for the controller.
    Note: You will need this API Token when adding the RUCKUS IoT Controller to your RUCKUS One account.
  3. Click to copy the API Token.
    Note: The generated API Token does not have an expiration date , and it will remain valid indefinitely until you manually change it by clicking Regenerate Token.
  4. (Optional) Click Regenerate Token to generate a new token.
