Performing a Factory Reset
Complete the following steps to perform a factory reset using the reset button.
- Remove power from the switch.
- Press and hold the reset button while applying power to the switch.
- Release the reset button as soon as all the
system LEDs begin to flash amber.
Note: If you do not release the reset button within five seconds of the PWR LED beginning to flash amber, the factory reset will not occur.
When the PWR LED blinks, all the configuration data is erased and the switch is returned to its factory configuration. When the PWR LED is solid green, the erase process is complete and the system reloads. Once reloaded and the PWR LED is steady green, the factory reset is complete.
Note: You can also perform the
factory reset by using the CLI. For instructions, refer to the
erase system factory-default command in the RUCKUS FastIron Command
Reference Guide. Be aware that this command erases the
configuration file, the license, and all core dump files. If you want to
keep your license, you can run the erase
startup-config command, then reload ICX switch without saving
the configuration file when prompted.
