Configuring UDP Logging Server

Perform the following steps to configure the UDP logging server:

  1. Enter the global configuration mode.
    device# configure terminal
  2. Enable the UDP syslog server support by entering the fips policy allow udp-logging command.
    device(config)# fips policy allow udp-logging
  3. Configure a logging host with the local or remote IP address of the syslog server and its remote port number.

    Syntax: logging host { ip-address | server-name } udp-port port-number

The following example configures a logging host with an IPv4 address of 10.177.17.95. Its UDP port is 5004.

device# configure terminal
device(config)# logging host 10.177.17.95 udp-port 5004

The following example configures a logging host with an IPv6 address of 12::12. Its UDP port is 1222.

device# configure terminal
device(config)# logging host 12::12 udp-port 1222

The following example configures a logging host with a domain or server name. Its UDP port is 11111.

device# configure terminal
device(config)# logging host test udp-port 11111
