Group Level Configuration

In addition to the general settings available in the Create Switch Group page or the Configure Switch Group page, there is a variety of settings that can be applied to a Switch Group including DNS, Syslog and AAA servers, profiles for port-level authentication, CLI templates, and model-based settings.

The following is a list of configurations that you can apply.

  • BGP EVPN: Setup the BGP EVPN routers and deploy L2VPN. As a prerequisite, the OSPF adjacencies should be already deployed in the switches. Refer to the topic Creating a BGP EVPN Route Reflector Profile.
  • Authentication Profiles: Create, manage and apply different profiles for performing MAC authentication, 802.1X authentication, or both. Refer to the topic Creating Authentication Profiles .
  • CLI Templates: Apply CLI commands to selected switches within the group or schedule the template to be applied later. The CLI templates provide the variables functionality to streamline the template creation. Refer to the information on CLI Templates in the topic Group Level CLI Configuration.
  • DNS: Add up to 5 DNS ip addresses to be used by the switches in the group. Refer to the topic Creating a Common Configuration.AAA: Add RADIUS and TACACS+ servers, or configure local users for login in the switches, and configure administrative privileges to access the switches like command authorization, or accounting. Refer to the topics Configuring Switch AAA Settings and Configuring Switch AAA Servers.
  • Syslog Server: Configure up to four Syslog servers for the switches to send a copy of their logs. Refer to te topic Creating a Common Configuration.
  • Model-Based Configuration: Create and apply configuration to all the switches of the selected model. For the available model-based configuration options, refer to the topic Model-Based Configurations
    • ACL: Create and apply standard or extended ACLs. These ACLs need to be later applied to the required interfaces.
    • VLAN: Create and apply VLANs and the VLAN settings including tagged and untagged ports, Spanning-Tree, Multicast, DHCP Snooping, ARP Inspection, and others.
    • Static Route: Create and apply static routes to switches using a routing image.

Configuration Tab in the Switches Page

Additionally, in the Configuration tab you can also Copy group configurationto to or Copy group configuration from other Switch Groups, refer to Copying Switch Group Configuration, or turn on the Enable Group CLI Config option, which disables all the features for GUI configuration and only allows CLI configuration for the group. Refer to Group Level CLI Configuration.
