Copy Config as Template
Feature Overview
Prior to the Copy Config as Template feature, you could create a CLI template and apply it directly or copy the configuration from one switch, make necessary modifications, and reapply the modified configuration to another switch. However, the capability to generate a CLI template directly from an existing switch backup configuration was missing. The Copy Config as a Template feature allows you to make few changes and then apply the adjusted configuration across other switches.
SmartZone version 7.1 introduces support for the Copy Config as Template feature within the switch configuration restore process. This enhancement enables the use of a backup configuration as a base template. Necessary modifications can be made to the backup configuration, and the updated configuration can then be applied to other switches, streamlining the deployment process and ensuring consistency across the network.
