Configuring QoS SGT

This task guides you through configuring specific types of internally generated traffic on ICX switches and applying the appropriate QoS markings.

Perform the following steps to configure QoS SGT.

  1. From the main menu, select Network > Wired > Switches.
    The Switches window is displayed.
  2. Select a switch.
  3. Click the Configuration tab in the Details area.
  4. In the Configuration section, click Configure.

  5. You will see three buttons - Create, Configure, and Delete - which allow you add a new QoS SGT configuration, modify an existing QoS SGT configuration, and delete the selected QoS SGT configuration, respectively. Configure and Delete become active after at least one configuration is saved.

  6. Click the Create button.
    1. Type: Select a predefined traffic type from drop-down list.
    2. DSCP Marking: Enter a value to classify and prioritize IP traffic.
      Note: The DSCP Marking value ranges from 0 through 63. For more information, refer to QoS SGT.
    3. 802.1p Priority Marking: Enter a value to assign priority to traffic.
      Note: The 802.1p Priority Marking value ranges from 0 through 7, with 0 being the lowest priority and 7 being the highest priority. For more information, refer to QoS SGT.

  7. Click OK to save the changes. The controller uses your GUI field entries to compose and send the appropriate ip self-generate-traffic command to the ICX switch to update its configuration.
    You can create additional QoS SGT configurations for different traffic types.
  8. Click Close to close the window.

    You can view the CLI command and the resulting status in the Configuration Details section of the Configuration tab on the controller GUI. The controller generates alerts if there are any errors. Additionally, the controller ensures that any local changes on the ICX switch are synchronized with the controller settings.
