Creating ICX 7150 Stacking Trunks on a Live System
- Enter global configuration mode.
- (Optional) Use the
show stackcommand to check the stack topology and status.ICX7150-24 Router(config-unit-1)# show stack T=35m51.5: alone: standalone, D: dynamic cfg, S: static ID Type Role Mac Address Pri State Comment 1 S ICX7150-24 active 00e0.5200.0100 128 local Ready 2 S ICX7150-48P standby 748e.f882.e418 0 remote Ready 3 D ICX7150-24P member cc4e.24b4.729c 0 remote Ready active standby +---+ +---+ +---+ -3/1| 1 |3/3==3/3| 3 |3/1--3/3| 2 |3/1- | +---+ +---+ +---+ | | | |-------------------------------------| Will assign standby in 56 sec due to all ready Standby u2 - protocols ready, can failover Current stack management MAC is 00e0.5200.0100The example shows a three-unit stack with all units in the Ready state. The units are connected in a ring formation, but there is no trunk between units 1 and 2. The trunk is formed in the following steps. - Enter stack unit configuration mode.
- Enter the
multi-stack-trunkcommand followed by the range of ports to include in the trunk on the connecting stack units.ICX7150-24 Router(config-unit-1)# multi-stack-trunk ethernet 1/3/1 to 1/3/2 and ethernet 2/3/1 to 2/3/2
The example creates a two-port stacking trunk containing ports 1/3/1 and 1/3/2 on stack unit 1 and ports 2/3/1 and 2/3/2 on stack unit 2. - (Optional) Enter the
show stackcommand and theshow stack connectioncommand to check the configuration.ICX7150-24 Router(config-unit-1)# show stack T=35m51.5: alone: standalone, D: dynamic cfg, S: static ID Type Role Mac Address Pri State Comment 1 S ICX7150-24 active 00e0.5200.0100 128 local Ready 2 S ICX7150-48P standby 748e.f882.e418 0 remote Ready 3 D ICX7150-24P member cc4e.24b4.729c 0 remote Ready active standby +---+ +---+ +---+ =3/1| 1 |3/3==3/3| 3 |3/1--3/3| 2 |3/1= | +---+ +---+ +---+ | | | |-------------------------------------| Will assign standby in 56 sec due to all ready Standby u2 - protocols ready, can failover Current stack management MAC is 00e0.5200.0100 ICX7150-24 Router# show stack connection Probing the topology.
