`vni`

Configures a VxLAN Network Identifier (VNI) for a Layer 2 Ethernet Virtual Private Network (EVPN) instance.

Syntax

vni vni-number l2

no vni

vni-number l2

Command Default

A VNI is not configured for the EVPN instance.

Parameters

vni-number: Specifies the number for the VNI. Valid values range from 1 through 16777215.
l2: Specifies that the VNI type is Layer 2.

Modes

EVPN EVI configuration mode

Usage Guidelines

This command is supported for RUCKUS ICX 7850 and ICX 7550 devices only.

The no form of the command removes the configured VNI.

Examples

The following example configures a VNI for a Layer 2 EVPN instance.

device# configure terminal
device(config)# l2vpn evpn
device(config-evpn)# evpn-instance 1 vlan-based
device(config-evpn-evi)# vni 100 l2
