slot 2 uplink-40g

Sets the module 2 to 40-Gbps uplink mode.
Syntax
slot 2 uplink-40g
no slot 2 uplink-40g
Modes

Global configuration mode

Usage Guidelines

Configure the slot 2 uplink-40g command to set module 2 uplink-40-Gbps mode on ICX 7550-24ZP, ICX 7550-24F, ICX 7550-48F, and ICX 7550-24XZP. The uplink-40-Gbps mode supports only 2x40-Gbps in module 3 and the system shuts down the module 3 if any unsupported speed is present.

The ports in slot 2 can either be configured as IEEE or hi-gig mode. A stack will be formed only when the ports are in hi-gig mode. Ports in IEEE mode will act as uplink port and cannot form a stack.

For ICX 7550-24ZP, ICX 7550-24F, and ICX 7550-24XZP devices, the uplink-40-Gbps mode supports only 2x40-Gbps in module 3 and an error message is displayed if an unsupported module is present in module 3.

For ICX 7550-48ZP and ICX 7550-48F devices, the uplink-40-Gbps mode is supported only if module 3 contains a 2x40-Gbps configuration or if module 3 is empty.

The no form of the command changes the slot 2 to default mode after reload.

Examples

The following example configures module 2 in uplink-40g mode.

ICX7550-24F Router# configure terminal
ICX7550-24F Router(config)# slot 2 uplink-40g

Changes require reload to take effect. Please do write memory and then reload or power cycle!!!
Slot 2 will be operating in uplink mode with 40Gbps speed after reload

ICX7550-24F Router(config)# exit
ICX7550-24F Router# write memory
ICX7550-24F Router# reload

The following example shows how to return to default mode.

ICX7550-24F Router(config)# no slot 2 uplink-40g
Changes require reload to take effect. Please do write memory and then reload or power cycle!!!
Slot 2 will be operating in default mode after reload.
