Expansion Module Overview

The RUCKUS ICX 7550 switch includes one port-side slot for media expansion modules, including a 4-port SFP+ 10-GbE module, a 4-port SFP+ 25-GBE module, a 2-port QSFP+ 40-GbE module, and a 1-port QSFP28 100-GbE module. If not installed, the empty expansion module slot must be covered using a filler panel.

The following media expansion modules are supported:

• ICX7600-4X10GF 4-port 40G Module: A 4-port 1/10 GbE SFP+ expansion module. The expansion module supports 1 GbE and 10 GbE optics.
  Note: The 4X10GF module supports MACsec when the appropriate license is purchased. For more information, refer to the RUCKUS FastIron Software Licensing Guide.
• ICX7600-2X40GQ 2-port 80G Module: A 2-port 40 GbE QSFP+ expansion module. The expansion module supports 40 GbE optics.
• ICX7600-1X100GQ 1-port 100G Module: A 1-port 100 GbE QSFP28 expansion module. The expansion module supports 100 GbE optics.
• ICX7550-4X25GF Module: A 4-port 1/10/25 GbE SFP28 expansion module. The expansion module supports 25 GbE optics. The expansion module supports 1 GbE, 10 GbE, and 25 GbE. Fastiron release 09.0.10k, 10.0.10h, and 10.0.20b introduce support for the ICX7550-4X25GF expansion module.
  Note: The ICX7550-4X25GF expansion module is supported for installation with FastIron releases 09.0.10k and 10.0.10h. Initial support for this module was introduced in FastIron release 10.0.20b.

The modules can be used for data uplink on supported ICX switch models, as shown in the following table.
