Campus Fabric Limitations for Image Downgrade from FastIron Release 08.0.90 to Previous Releases

Consider the following information when downgrading from FastIron release 08.0.90 in a Campus Fabric (SPX) network.

ICX Device Support in SPX Systems

The following table lists RUCKUS ICX devices and the release when they were introduced for use in a Control Bridge (CB) or as a Port Extender (PE) unit.

SPX Support for ICX Devices

SPX System with ICX 7650 CB Units

  • Downgrade from FastIron release 08.0.90 to 08.0.70 or prior releases is not supported. If this downgrade is attempted in an SPX system with ICX 7650 CB units, the PE units are not recognized, and the SPX system is dismantled.
  • Downgrade from FastIron release 08.0.90 to 08.0.80 should be fine.

SPX System with ICX 7750 CB Units

  • Downgrade from FastIron release 08.0.90 to 08.0.30 or earlier releases is not supported. If a downgrade is attempted, PE units are not recognized, and the SPX system is dismantled.
  • Downgrade from FastIron release 08.0.90 to 08.0.40 does not recognize ICX 7150 or ICX 7250 devices configured as PEs.
  • Downgrade from FastIron release 08.0.90 to 08.0.50 does not recognize ICX 7250 devices as PEs.
  • Downgrade from FastIron release 08.0.90 to 08.0.70 or later releases should be fine.
