Setting Up the Primary RND Node

To set up the primary RND node, complete the following steps.
  1. Complete the VM image import and VM instance bootup, as described in Setting Up the Virtual Machine Using VMware ESXi.
  2. Log in to the RND console. Refer to Logging In to the RUCKUS Network Director Console.
  3. Configure the network settings. Refer to Setting Up the Network.
  4. Set up the primary RND node by pressing Enter on the node configuration page of the setup wizard.

Press enter if this is the first node or the IP of the primary if else:
  5. Configure the following settings:
    • Host Name: Enter a name for the current RND node.
    • OS Admin password: Set the password to log in to the RND command line.
    • OS Admin password again: Reconfirm the OS admin password.
    • Web Admin password: Set the password to log in to the RND web page.
    • Web Admin password again: Reconfirm the web admin password.
    • NTP Server: Specify the NTP server you want to use. Otherwise, press Enter to choose the default RUCKUS NTP server and continue.
  6. Type Yes or yes and press Enter to apply the settings.
    Host Name: node0
