Configuring a Watcher and Monitoring an IP Performance Metrics Profile
The following task creates a watcher profile called "watch1" and enters watcher configuration mode, where the watcher is configured to watch an IPPM profile, and actions are configured for the watcher configuration.
- Enter global configuration mode.
- Configure a watcher. This example creates a watcher called "watch1" and places the device in watcher configuration mode.
- Specify the IPPM profile to
monitor, and the frequency at which the watcher checks for the IPPM test
validation results.This example specifies that the IPPM profile called "test1" is monitored, and that the watcher checks for the IPPM test validation results every sixty seconds.
- Configure an action for a
watcher configuration. This example specifies that syslog messages are logged upon the success of an IPPM validation test.
- Configure an action for a watch configuration. This example specifies that syslog messages are logged upon the failure of an IPPM validation test.
The following example configures a watcher and places the device in watcher configuration mode. It also specifies that the IPPM profile called "test1" is monitored, and that the watcher checks for the IPPM test validation results every sixty seconds. It also configures the watcher to log syslog messages upon the success or failure of an activity.
