Enabling STP BPDU TX Filter

The Spanning Tree Protocol Bridge Protocol Data Units Transmit Filter (STP BPDU TX) feature stops the device from sending STP BPDUs on a port, while still processing any BPDUs received on that port.
Follow these steps to configure STP BPDU TX filtering for a port.
  1. Enter global configuration mode.
    device# configure terminal
  2. Configure an Ethernet Interface.
    device(config)# interface ethernet 1/1/1
  3. Enable the STP BPDU TX Filter to suppress BPDU transmission for the Ethernet interface.
    device(config-if-e1000-1/1/1)# stp-bpdu tx-filter
Info: STP BPDU TX filter enabled on port 1/1/1.

The following example enables the STP BPDU TX Filter to suppress BPDU transmission for the Ethernet interface.

device# configure terminal
device(config)# interface ethernet 1/1/1
device(config-if-e1000-1/1/1)# stp-bpdu tx-filter
Info: STP BPDU TX filter enabled on port 1/1/1.

The following example removes BPDU transmit suppression for an Ethernet interface.

device# configure terminal
device(config)# interface ethernet 1/1/1
device(config-if-e1000-1/1/1)# no stp-bpdu tx-filter

The following example displays the running configuration for Ethernet interface 1/1/1 with the STP BPDU TX filter enabled.

device# show running-config interface ethernet 1/1/1
interface ethernet 1/1/1
stp-bpdu tx-filter
