`green-mode`

Activates the green-mode LED interval on an ICX device to reduce the power consumption of ICX switches.

Syntax

green-mode { on [ led time-interval ] | off }

green-mode off

Parameters

on: Activates the green-mode LED interval and sets the default interval of 5 minutes.
off: Deactivates the green-mode LED interval.
led time-interval: Sets the green-mode LED interval. The interval can be set to a whole number from 1 through 15. Specifying 0 disables this feature.

Command Default

The green-mode feature is disabled.

Usage Guidelines

The ICX green-mode LED feature is designed to reduce the power consumption of ICX switches. In case of any events affecting port status (link up/down/crc errors), all ICX LEDs will illuminate for the configured interval. The no form of the command deactivates the green-mode LED feature.

Examples

The following example configures the LED interval for 10 minutes.

device# configure terminal
device(config)# green-mode on led 10
Setting green-mode LED interval to 10 mins

The following examples disable the green-mode LED timer.

device(config)# no green-mode
Disabled green-mode LED timer.

device(config)# green-mode off
Disabled green-mode LED timer
