Excluding an Interface from Dynamic Port-Profile Assignments

You can prevent a specific interface from participating in dynamic port-profile assignments to maintain configuration stability on critical ports. Excluding an interface prevents any dynamic port profile changes from applying until you remove the setting. Complete the following steps to exclude the interface.
  1. Enter global configuration mode.
    device# configure terminal
  2. Enter Interface configuration mode for the port you want to exclude.
    device(config)# interface ethernet 1/1/2

  3. Enter the exclude port-profile command to prevent the interface from being modified by any dynamic port profile assignment.
    device(config-if-e1000-1/1/2)# exclude port-profile

The following example excludes interface ethernet 1/1/2 from dynamic port profile assignments.

device# configure terminal
device(config)# interface ethernet 1/1/2
device(config-if-e1000-1/1/2)# exclude port-profile

The following example restores dynamic behavior on the interface by removing the exclusion.

device# configure terminal
device(config)# interface ethernet 1/1/2
device(config-if-e1000-1/1/2)# no exclude port-profile
