descriptionPort-profile configuration mode
Any device capable of LLDP can be associated with a profile.
When LLDP is enabled on a global basis, by default, each port on a RUCKUS device is capable of transmitting and receiving LLDP packets.
LLDP connection must be established before applying the port profile. LLDP is less vulnerable to spoofing compared to MAC. Identification of LLDP vendor TLVs is not easy.
Options offer filtering capabilities for system names and descriptions, enabling users to specify patterns to include or start with.
The no form of the command
disables the receipt and transmission of LLDP packets on the specified ports.
The following example creates an LLDP device entry using either the system name, system description, or both.
device(config-port-profile-profile2)# lldp-device system-name "RUCKUS" device(config-port-profile-profile2)# lldp-device system-desc "RUCKUS" device(config-port-profile-profile2)# lldp-device system-name "RUCKUS" system-desc "RUCKUS"
device(config-port-profile-profile2)# lldp-device system-name-begin "RUCKUS" system-desc-begin "RUCKUS"
device(config-port-profile-profile2)# lldp-device system-name-include "RUCKUS" system-desc-include "RUCKUS"
