RIPng Overview
Last Updated
Sep 03, 2026
Protocol Next Generation or RIPng, functions similarly to IPv4 RIP version 2. RIPng supports IPv6 addresses and prefixes. RIPng maintains a Routing Information Database (RIB), which is a local route table. The local RIB contains the lowest-cost IPv6 routes learned from other RIP routers. RIPng attempts to add routes from its local RIB into the main IPv6 route table. Ruckus ICX 8100 devices do not support RIPng.

. Global configuration mode This command is supported for ICX 8100 and ICX 8200 devices only. The no form of the command removes the configuration. The following example configures the ICX device to drop TCP packets sent using the MAC Multicast mechanism, which is erroneous and could signal a DDOS attack. device# configure terminal device(config)# ip tcp over-mac-multicast Release version Command history 10.0.00 This command was introduced.
