Before You Begin

To begin using RUCKUS IoT Insights to manage the IoT devices and IoT services, you must prepare the following components:

• An existing network with an internet connection

• A RUCKUS SmartZone or Virtual SmartZone wireless LAN (WLAN) controller implementation on the network

• A RUCKUS IoT Controller version 2.0.0.0 or newer version

  • A Right to Use (RTU) license
  • An Insights type of IoT Instance license
  • One block (minimum) of IoT Device licenses
  Note: RUCKUS IoT Insights operates with a Trial license for installation of the RUCKUS IoT Controller for up to 90 days. After 90 days, you must purchase and install the RUCKUS licenses as required. During this Trial period, some advanced solutions from third parties may not be enabled because they require subscriptions.
