Configuring IGMP Snooping to Support AV Multicast Traffic

The following task creates a VLAN dedicated to SDVoE application and enables IGMP snooping (IGMPv2 hosts only) to allow efficient switching of AV multicast traffic.
  1. Enter global configuration mode.
    device# configure terminal
  2. Disable the flooding of unregistered IPv4 multicast frames.
    device(config)# ip multicast disable-flooding
  3. Configure a VLAN dedicated to the SDVoE application and add ports to it.
    device(config)# vlan 10
    device(config-vlan-10)# untagged ethernet 1/1/5 to 1/1/8
  4. Set the IGMP mode to active for the VLAN.
    device(config-vlan-10)# multicast active
  5. Configure the IPv4 querier address for the VLAN.
    device(config-vlan-10)# multicast querier-address 10.2.2.2
  6. Configure Fast Leave for IGMPv2.
    device(config-vlan-20)# multicast fast-leave-v2

Configuring IGMP Snooping (IGMPv3 hosts only) to Support AV Multicast Traffic

  5. Configure the IPv4 querier address for the VLAN.
    device(config-vlan-10)# multicast querier-address 10.2.2.2
  6. Configure the IGMP version (V3) for snooping on the VLAN.
    device(config-vlan-10)# multicast version 3
  7. Enable tracking and Fast Leave on the VLAN.
    device(config-vlan-10)# multicast tracking
