Licensing Model Prior to 2.2.0.0 Release

With the release of RUCKUS IoT Controller 2.2.0.0, there is a significant change in the licensing model. Previously, it used a device-based licensing framework that included various licenses such as Core (Instance) License, RTU License, Temporary Trial License, AP Capacity License, Support License, and others. The updated model now follows a per-AP, container-based licensing system called the RCAP License. This shift represents a fundamental change in how licensing is handled within the RUCKUS IoT Controller framework.

Attention: Core license is also referred to as Instance license.

Note: RUCKUS has discontinued the sale of RUCKUS IoT Controller 2.1.1 and earlier 2.x releases, along with their associated SKUs. This End of Sale (EOS) introduced the RUCKUS Container per Access Point (RCAP) licensing model with RUCKUS IoT Controller 2.2 and the latest controller versions.
