Hardware Features
The RUCKUS ICX 8100 is an entry-level, fixed-configuration access switch designed to provide basic Ethernet connectivity for campus network edge deployments. This switch is ideal for organizations requiring 1 GbE port density and Power over Ethernet (PoE) capabilities to power devices such as wireless access points, IP phones, and IP cameras. The ICX 8100 supports fiber uplink ports for seamless integration, ensuring scalable and reliable network connectivity.
ICX 8100 switches have the following features:
- 8, 16, 24, or 48 1-GbE copper ports that support 10/100/1000 Mbps operation.
- Two or four SFP ports that support 1/10-Gbps operation; the last SFP ports can be used for uplink ports
- The ICX8100-C08PF, ICX8100-C16P, ICX8100-24P, ICX8100-48P, and ICX8100-48PF switches comply with the IEEE 802.3bt Type 2 PSE 30W maximum per port.
- The following table lists the ICX 8100 switch models
with 8, 16, 24, or 48 auto-negotiating 10/100/1000 Mbps full duplex RJ-45 ports
that can be used for downlink. These ports reside on slot 1 of the switch and
can be non-PoE, PoE, or PoE+.
