Changing the Accounting Period

By default, the ACL accounting timer collects statistics for 5000 milliseconds (ms) (5 seconds) before generating a report. You can set the timer to any value from 5000 ms through 60000 ms, in increments of 1000 ms.

To set the timer, in global configuration mode, enter the access-list accounting timer command followed by the desired duration in milliseconds as shown in the following example.

device# configure terminal
device(config)# access-list accounting timer 60000

The example sets the timer to collect and report accounting statistics every minute.
